In a passionate plea for justice, Dhanbad Mayor Sanjeev Singh urged authorities to make swift arrests in the shocking case of Shubham Yadav, gunned down in his home on April 16. Singh pointed to the escalating crime wave gripping the district, which has instilled a profound sense of dread among the residents of Baghmara.
Dhanbad: Dhanbad mayor Sanjeev Singh on Monday sought immediate arrest of the killers of Shubham Yadavand criticised the law and order situation in the district.Yadav, 28, died of bullet injuries after unidentified men barged into his home in Baghmara on April 16 and opened fire at him.
The police formed a special investigation team to probe the incident and arrest the assailants.
However, no arrests were made till Monday. Six people have been accused in the case.Notably, Yadav was an aide of gangster Aman Singh and had several criminal cases against him. Police suspected Yadav was killed over an ongoing gang rivalry.Singh said, “Continuous criminal activities in Baghmara have instilled fear among residents. The administration must take strict action to restore public confidence.” He also urged deputy commissioner and SSP to ensure that criminal activities are curbed in the area.
