Dharmendra created quite a stir in 1980 when he married 'Dream Girl', Hema Malini, despite already being married to Prakash Kaur. When he tied the knot with Hema Malini, he already had four children with Prakash Kaur - Sunny Deol, Bobby, Ajeita and Vijeta. While many spoke against the actor, it was actually his wife Prakash Kaur who defended him in front of the world. In an interview with Stardust a year after Dharmendra and Hema Malini tied the knot, Prakash remarked, “Why only my husband? Any man would have preferred Hema over me.” She also strongly opposed those labeling the actor a womaniser, saying, “How dare anyone call my husband a womaniser when half the industry is doing the same thing? He may not be the best husband, though he is very good to me, but he is certainly the best father.
His children love him a lot. He never neglects them.”Interestingly, even though Hema and Dharmendra are married, they have chosen to live separately. In a conversation with Lehren TV a few years ago, Hema opened up about this unusual arrangement. She explained that she has no regrets even though she wished she had more time with her husband. “Nobody wants to be like that; it happens. Automatically, naturally, what happens, you have to accept.
Otherwise, nobody will feel like they want to live their life like this.
No! Every woman wants to have a husband and children, like a normal family. But somewhere, it went out of the way.”The actress went on to clarify that she has no regrets, saying, “I am not feeling bad about it or sulking or feeling sad about it. I am happy with myself. I have my two children, and I have brought them up very well,” while also noting that Dharmendra has always been there for her and their daughters.Dharmendra and Hema Malini have two daughters - Esha and Ahana Deol. On work front, Dharmendra was last seen in 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani' and 'Teri Baaton Mein Uljha Jiya'. He will be seen next in Sriram Raghavan's 'Ikkis' which also has Amitabh Bachchan's grandson Agastya Nanda.
