The day we have all been waiting for is finally here! 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' finally arrives in cinemas today, with preview shows playing across cinemas. Ahead of the highly anticipated release, the film's Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) report has surfaced online, giving fans a look at the multiple edits, scene cuts and replacements, resulting in a shortened runtime for its domestic release.

'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' get 'A' rating with cuts

According to certification details, the film has secured an 'A' rating with a final runtime in India stands at 3 hours, 49 minutes and 36 seconds. The version submitted to the CBFC was approximately 3 hours and 51 minutes. With the board making additional cuts of around 1.3 minutes, the film now has a runtime that is said to be more than 6 minutes shorter than the overseas version, with a runtime of approximately 3 hours and 55 minutes.

'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' to have shorter runtime in India

As per the certification report, a total of 4 of 21 major modifications were suggested, involving visuals of extreme violence. These include moments described as “smashing the eye,” “beheading and kicking,” “hitting the head with a cement block,” and “hitting the head with a hammer,” all of which were trimmed. As per the report, the 24 seconds of a 'beheading and kicking' scene were deleted.

After the post went viral, fans had a lot to say about the cuts.

One asked, "Paka A rated hai ne Ye kya kar diya.."Another said, "CBFC has censored one of the most awaited and anticipated scenes from #DhurandharTheRevenge."Another added, "CBFC gives A ratings, yet Dhurandhar is censored in India while overseas it’s uncut."The Indian CBFC has often been hit with criticism for demanding edits to film scenes involving explicit violence, language or sensitive content before granting approval for public exhibition.Despite the edits, 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' remains one of the longer releases in recent times.

'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' box office collections

The film has already recorded a good start at the box office, earning over Rs 41.24 crore in gross advance bookings. With the inclusion of blocked seats, the film's total haul is expected to be around Rs 46 crore. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film, also starring Sara Arjun, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Rakesh Bedi, Danish Pandor, and Yami Gautam in key roles. The film will have a wide release in India in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
