With Raakh earning appreciation, Dibyendu Bhattacharya recently shared a behind-the-scenes moment with co-star Ali Fazal from the thriller’s sets. The actor also joked that after portraying cops across projects such as Jamtara, Undekhi and Raakh, he has probably completed a “PhD” in playing police officers.
Dibyendu Bhattacharya is currently seen as ACP Hajra in the thriller Raakh. The actor, who has frequently portrayed law enforcement officers over the years, recently shared a light-hearted observation about his growing list of cop roles.
While audiences have come to associate him with grounded performances, Dibyendu believes each character comes with its own set of challenges. With Raakh adding another officer to his repertoire, the actor is also looking ahead to Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari.Sharing behind-the-scenes moments from the sets of Raakh, Dibyendu reflected on his long association with playing police officers on screen. He said, “From an SHO in Jamtara to a DSP and then an SP in Undekhi, I think I’ve completed my PhD in being a police officer as I now play ACP Hajra in Raakh! Jokes apart, this poignant show directed by the extremely talented Prosit Roy is a must-watch.”Although police officers have become a recurring presence in his filmography, Dibyendu has built an equally varied body of work across films and streaming projects. He has been seen as Inspector Biswa Pathak in Jamtara, DSP Barun Ghosh in Undekhi, Raza Mehdi in Rocket Boys, Layak Talukdar in Criminal Justice and Neel in Poachers. His credits also include films such as Dev.D, Black Friday and Mission Raniganj, besides acclaimed series like Sacred Games and Delhi Crime.The actor will next be seen in Alpha, headlined by Alia Bhatt and Sharvari.
