“Siya never said she was in relationship with Chetan. If she had told me she wanted to go ahead with him, I'd have spoken to my parents and broken off the engagement,” says Sahil

Sahil Goyal, who was questioned by the police in connection with the Ketan Agarwal murder case in which his sister, Siya, is the main accused, said his parents did not know about her friendship with co-accused Chetan Chaudhary, who is alleged to be her lover.
Sahil said Siya had confided in him. “Siya had told me that she wanted to go ahead with Ketan Agarwal and did not want to have anything to do with Chetan Chaudhary, then what could I have told my parents? She swore on me that she would never speak to Chetan or even stay in touch with him. She was planning the pre-wedding shoot, songs, location for hours. How was I to know…I never told them my parents about Chetan," Sahil told NewsDotz.
Siya and Chetan are currently in police custody for allegedly plotting and executing the murder of her fiancé, Pune businessman Ketan Agarwal, by pushing him off a cliff at Lohagad Fort on June 18.
‘Siya said Chetan was a friend’
“She never said there was a relationship. She said she didn’t know what it was. She said they were friends and she was happy when they were together. We might get engaged, or married…It is very early to say anything…It was just confusion," said Sahil.
“I had told her you are very young. You may think friendship is love, which is also fine. Whatever you decide is okay. If you want to go ahead with Ketan, this will be our secret. If she had told me she wanted to go ahead with Chetan, I would have spoken to my parents and broken off the engagement."
“I have told the same thing to the police too. The statement was recorded for 10-12 hours. I am cooperating fully with the authorities," said Sahil.

The Rs 10-crore defamation notice
On June 30, Sahil was served a Rs 10-crore defamation notice by Advocate Aashutosh Srivastava, who claims to represent Siya. This feud erupted publicly ahead of a key court hearing in Pune.
On June 29, Sahil Goyal publicly stated that the family never hired Advocate Srivastava and claimed that the lawyer may have obtained Siya’s signature on the Vakalatnama (legal authority document) through deceitful means.
Advocate Srivastava vehemently denied these claims, asserting the appointment was completely valid and recorded by the Vadgaon Maval court. He demanded a public apology and retraction from Sahil, threatening a Rs 10-crore civil defamation suit if he fails to comply.
Another lawyer, Advocate Vipul Dushing, has also claimed to represent the family, creating a major clash over who will officially defend Siya in court.
