Digital scam: BESCOM employee dies by suicide in Bengaluru after harassment by fake CBI officer; Rs 11 lakh extorted before death

BENGALURU: A Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) employee has died by suicide in Karnataka’s Ramanagara district after allegedly being harassed by a man posing as a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officer.The deceased, identified as K Kumar, left a handwritten suicide note in which he stated that he had been blackmailed and coerced into transferring 11 lakh into several bank accounts.Kumar was found hanging from a tree in Channapatna, Ramanagara district, in the southern part of Bengaluru.

He also cited harassment and ill health as the reasons for taking his own life.
