Dinesh Gundu Rao condemns removal of ‘janivara’ of students at CET centre

Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao on Saturday condemned the alleged removal of ‘janivara’ (sacred thread) of students at a CET centre as “inhuman” and said the government had taken note of the matter and assured transparent action.

The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident that took place on Friday at a city college where three students were allegedly asked to remove their sacred thread by the staff before entering exam hall. The college has suspended the staff.
