Patna: CPI-ML General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya addresses a press conference
Buxar: CPI (ML) general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya visited Dumraon in Buxar district on Tuesday for a one-day programme, where he was warmly welcomed by party workers and residents. He formally released the five-year performance report of Dumraon MLA Ajit Kumar Singh at a function held at Nagar Bhawan.Addressing the public, Bhattacharya stressed accountability in a democracy. “Elected representatives must present a clear account of their work to the people,” he said. Highlighting achievements, he cited the establishment of an art college in Dumraon in memory of shehnai maestro Ustad Bismillah Khan, calling it an effort to preserve the Ganga-Jamuni culture. He accused the current govt of pursuing anti-poor, anti-farmer and anti-employment policies.
The BJP and Central Government, he alleged, were stripping citizens of their fundamental rights and attempting to evict Biharis from Delhi slums while deleting names of poor, Dalit and minority voters from electoral rolls.Bhattacharya said the INDIA bloc resisted the SIR process up to the Supreme Court, forcing the Election Commission to back down thrice.Recalling the sacrifices of the 1942 Quit India Movement martyrs from Dumraon, he urged youth to carry forward the fight for democracy and equality. He also criticised the Nitish Kumar govt for “failing to deliver on promises and neglecting marginalised communities”.
