TDP spokesperson N.B. Sudhakar Reddy, who was summoned by the party’s disciplinary committee in Amaravati, for his public outburst against a Minister during a recent TV debate.

The threat of an imminent disciplinary action on the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) spokesperson N.B. Sudhakar Reddy, in view of his outbursts against a Minister in the State Cabinet on a live television debate, fizzled out after he tendered apology before the party’s disciplinary committee.

Mr. Reddy, a counselling psychologist by profession, is also a former journalist and political analyst hailing from the undivided Chittoor district. The disciplinary committee summoned him to Amaravati demanding an explanation on Tuesday over the serious charges of corruption and misconduct levelled by him on a number of MLAs, besides a personal remark against a Cabinet Minister.

The issue evidently left the TDP leadership red-faced, with the YSRCP district president and former MLA Bhumana Karunakar Reddy turning the tide in his favour and demanding an explanation from the government over the allegation made by none other than their own spokesperson.

Appearing before the disciplinary committee comprising chairman Varla Ramaiah, MLC Panchumarthi Anuradha and RTC Chairman Konakalla Narayana, Mr. Reddy reportedly apologised for his statement. Explaining that his intention was to save the party by exposing the misdeeds of a few, the spokesperson pointed out that he had raised the issue on a public forum ‘by oversight’. Mr. Sudhakar Reddy also assured that such things would not recur.
