Discreet dating app touches 4 million users in India

Gleeden, world’s first discreet dating app for private dating, with a focus on providing services to women, has reached an important milestone in India by registering more than 4 million users.

This success shows how quickly the platform is growing and becoming relevant to a culture that is rapidly changing in how relationships, companionship, and personal fulfillment are perceived.According to the platform, the breakdown between genders is 65% male and 35% female and the majority of their users are either married or in long-term relationships with their spouses. Women's usage of the platform has increased dramatically by 148% over the past two years, demonstrating changing attitudes and increased female agency when it comes to making personal choices and finding companionship.

The fact that women can use the platform at no cost reinforces the app’s commitment to providing a safer and more even ecosystem.Their user base is located in both major metropolitan areas as well as up-and-coming cities. In total, Bengaluru accounted for 18% of total users, followed by Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai, and Pune. Additionally, the number of users from tier-2 cities has been growing significantly, showing that discreet online relationships are now being created in locations other than metropolitan India.

The evolving patterns of user behaviour analysis also support these findings. On average Indian members spend 1- 1.5 hours per day chatting, with the majority of chat activity occurring between the hours of 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. and then between 10 p.m. to midnight. Men are mostly interested in women between the ages of 25 and 30, while women highly prefer men between the ages of 30 and 40, typically men who are financially secure professionals including doctors, senior executives and chartered accountants.According to Sybil Shiddell, Country Manager of Gleeden India, “Crossing the 4 million user milestone in India signifies a watershed moment for us. This demonstrates that digital adoption is growing exponentially and that there has been a quiet revolution in how people approach modern relationships. Many people consider marriage to be one of the most sacred institutions in this country but are using outlets like this to search for a means of emotional expression and self-affirmation.

Stronger growth amongst women, especially in the last two years, shows that there is more confidence and independence in women’s choice to utilize the app. We continue to be focused on giving each adult a place to make their own informed choices in a safe, private, and respectful manner.”
