NEW DELHI/GHAZIABAD: The Noida STF and Delhi Police special cell in a joint operation killed two persons allegedly wanted in connection with the firing at actress Disha Patani’s house in Bareilly.

The two were killed in an encounter in Tronica City in Ghaziabad on Wednesday night.According to police, the alleged criminals were identified as Ravindra, a resident of Rohtak in Haryana, and Arun, a resident of Sonipat, also in Haryana.

Both were members of the Goldy Brar-Rohit Godara gang. A pistol and cartridges were recovered from the scene.Rajkumar Mishra, SP of the Noida STF, said that after the Patani incident, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath took cognisance of the incident and ordered an immediate investigation and action.Through intelligence gathering, analysis of CCTV footage of all routes, and comparison with crime records of neighbouring states, the two responsible for the firing were identified.“On Wednesday, a joint team of the Noida unit of the UP STF and Delhi Police engaged in an encounter with the culprits, during which both were seriously injured and sent to a hospital for treatment. During treatment, both were declared dead by doctors,” he said.

“Ravindra was involved in several cases. A Glock and Zigana pistol, along with several live cartridges, were found on the accused,” he said.Additional CP (special cell) Pramod Singh Kushwaha said that during this shootout, sub-inspector Rohit suffered a gunshot injury in the left hand, while head constable Kailash suffered an injury on the bicep of the right hand. "Two head constables of UP STF, Ankur and Jai, also got injured."Sources said Ravinder was also wanted in connection with the escape of gangster Ravi Jagsi from police custody in Faridabad.Around 3.45 am on Sept 12, two motorcycle-riding men fired approximately nine rounds at Disha Patani's house in Bareilly. Soon after the attack, a post from an account that identified itself with gangster Goldy Brar’s group claimed responsibility, citing “insults to revered saints”. The account was deactivated within hours.Disha was not present at home, but her father, Jagdish Patani, and mother, Padma, along with Disha’s siblings Khushboo and Suryansh, were inside.CCTV footage also came to light of the incident in which two people were seen coming on a bike and opening fire four times outside the house. The attack is suspectedly linked to a recent controversy involving Disha’s sister Khushboo Patani, a retired major of the Indian Army and currently a certified wellness coach.

She had allegedly spoken about Katcha Vachak Aniruddh Acharya, alleging that he had made “misogynistic remarks”.Khushboo put the video on her Instagram story, saying: “If he would have been in front of me, I would have taught him a lesson.”However, her remarks were misattributed to Premanand Ji Maharaj, a spiritual figure followed by celebrities. The remarks attracted criticism. Subsequently, in Aug, she warned of legal action if the criticism did not stop and clarified that her remarks weren’t for Premanand Ji.
