A dismembered body of a man was discovered in a well in Kamareddy town, Telangana, on Monday, police said.

The victim’s lower body, including his legs, was found stuffed in a plastic bag and discarded in an abandoned, garbage-filled well. The upper body, including the torso, is still missing, authorities said.

The deceased is estimated to be in his 30s or 40s. A rag picker first noticed the body parts inside the bag.

Police have registered a murder case and are continuing their investigation.

In a separate incident, a 14-year-old boy died after reportedly falling into an uncovered concrete chamber owned by the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) near Tatangudi in Bengaluru’s South Taluk.

The incident has triggered widespread outrage, with locals accusing authorities of gross negligence.

The deceased, identified as Preetham, was a Class 9 student who had been missing for three days. A missing person complaint was filed at Kaggalipura Police Station on January 29. Family members said they had been searching tirelessly for him during this period.
