Diwali 2025: Significance
According to the Hindu Scriptures, Diwali is one of the major festivals of Hindus. The day celebrates the triumph over evil. This day holds a great religious and spiritual significance among Hindus.
Deepawali means the festival of lights and diyas, when people illuminate home, streets, temples and celebrate this day with great enthusiasm and fervor. Deepawali represents the victory of light over darkness. People spend five long days celebrating this event, and these celebrations teach us a lot.
The whole country celebrates this day with happiness and zeal. On this auspicious day, Lord Ganesha, Lord Kuber and Maa Laxmi is worshipped with a great immense devotion and dedication.
Maa Laxmi is believed to visit Earth and bestow prosperity, wealth, and good health upon her devotees. On this very day, people light diyas and give presents to their loved ones. Lighting lamps is a symbol of luck, virtue, and purity.
Diwali 2025: Celebration
Deepawali is celebrated by people through a variety of customs and rituals, including adorning their homes, creating rangoli, and lighting their homes with candles, diyas, and lights. People visit one another, exchanges gifts, and dress traditionally. According to the Puja Muhurat, people worship Lord Ganesha and Goddess Laxmi at night while children burn crackers, and ignite sparklers. On the day of Diwali, some people give to charities by donating new clothes and giving money to those in need so that they can also celebrate Diwali as well.
On this day, the goddess Kali is honored in Bengal and other Eastern Indian states, we call this Shyama puja. Various regions celebrate Diwali by adhering to their own customs and traditions.
