Doctor arrested for sexual assault on college student in Udhagamandalam

A 44-year-old doctor working in the emergency ward of the Ooty Government College and Hospital was arrested by the Ooty All Women Police on March 16, 2026, (Monday) for alleged sexual assault on a college student.

The accused, identified as Om Prakash, is said to have lured a female college student to a lodge in Udhagamandalam on the pretext of helping her clear her examinations. He is then said to have allegedly sexually assaulted her there. Hearing the commotion, the lodge operators are said to have informed the police, who rushed to the spot and conducted investigations.
