Donald Trump faces backlash after social media post supporting Pam Bondi

Sometimes intentions don’t always translate into results. Former U.S. President Donald Trump had hoped that his post on his social media platform, Truth Social, would help quiet the noise surrounding Attorney General Pam Bondi’s involvement in the Jeffrey Epstein memo controversy.

But it didn’t happen that way. In his candid post, Trump wrote, “What’s going on with my ‘boys’ and, in some cases, ‘gals?’ They’re all going after Attorney General Pam Bondi, who is doing a FANTASTIC JOB! We’re on one Team, MAGA, and I don’t like what’s happening. We have a PERFECT Administration, THE TALK OF THE WORLD, and ‘selfish people’ are trying to hurt it, all over a guy who never dies, Jeffrey Epstein.”

However, this post was quickly ratioed on Truth Social.

That’s a rare occurrence on a platform largely built for and by his loyal base. Being ratioed means that a particular post received more replies than likes, often signaling public disapproval, and is usually seen on platforms like X. Currently, Trump’s post has 32.7k comments and less than 30k likes, an evident proof that his followers have not appreciated his post. One user wrote, “This is going to cost you so many supporters.

I being one of them, I have been to multiple rallies and even was there on J6. This is one of the main things that needs fixing. Our 2 tiered system of justice needs to end. We the people are tired of it.……”

Another wrote, “My wanting pedophiles to be punished for their crimes doesn't make me less of a patriot, but more. I don't understand the reason for your current attitude and frankly I'm beyond the point of caring. I do care about justice, wether you approve or not.”A third user shared the sentiment, “You promised us Sir. Putting your MAGA base down is not going to make this go away. Pam Bondi has LIED to us time and time again. Who is advising you?”While this goes on endlessly on social media still, reports have suggested that Trump has continued to rally support behind Pam Bondi privately, too. As per a CNN report, Trump’s inner circle has reached out to some of Bondi’s most vocal critics, asking them to calm it down a notch on their criticism. They also made it clear that Trump, at this moment, was not getting rid of his attorney general.
