Gather up Potterheads! The dream is becoming a reality after yearning for decades. The fanfiction book ‘Alchemised’ will likely be made into a film, as the movie rights have been purchased for a whopping seven figures.

About the movie rights for 'Alchemised'

According to The Hollywood Reporter, SenLinYu’s book has been purchased by Legendary for allegedly over USD 3 million, and is considered to be one of the highest-paid books for movie rights. Moreover, Legendary has signed a 3-year output agreement with Paramount. “I’m honored by Legendary’s incredible enthusiasm for the project and can’t wait to see the world of Paladia come to life,” SenLinYu expressed. ‘Alchemised’ takes inspiration from SenLinYu’s previous novel, ‘Manacled,’ where Hermione is trapped by Draco, which leads to a confrontation with the lost memories and revelations of the shocking truths. After garnering views and success, she decided to write her original novel with a couple of changes in setting, genre, and characters, while retaining the enemies-to-lovers trope, memory loss, and dark romanticism.

The plot and its drama

‘Alchemised’ revolves around the story of Helena Marino, an alchemist and healer who wants to hold the lost secrets in her mind, and Kaine, the High Reeve, who has her confined in a crumbling estate. The story is set in an alternate world full of necromancers and corrupt guild families. “Helena’s fight — to protect her lost history and to preserve the last remaining shreds of her former self — is just beginning. For her prison and captor have secrets of their own … secrets Helena must unearth, whatever the cost,” the book jacket stated.

The book will be released on September 23, and in 21 languages worldwide.
