Dravidian University on Friday (February 06, 2026) hosted the first-ever State-wide seminar of non-teaching staff, since its inception, marking a significant milestone in the university’s administration in Andhra Pradesh. The theme of the seminar was “Role of Non-Teaching Staff in Institutional Development”. Several non-teaching employees from universities across the State, reflecting collective concern for institutional growth and employee welfare, participated in the seminar.
Dr. Kancharla Srikanth, MLC and Government Whip, stressed the importance of strong administrative support systems and assured that genuine issues of non-teaching staff would be taken up with the government. Vice-Chancellor Prof. M. Doraswamy said non-teaching staff are equal partners in university development and assured institutional support.
Registrar Prof. V. Kiran Kumar called for transparency and timely service-related decisions, while Dean Prof. Shyamala highlighted coordination between academic and administrative wings. Several resolutions, including timely salary credit, filling vacant posts and welfare measures, were unanimously adopted. Association leaders hailed the programme as historic.
