Drawing competition for women in Shivamogga to mark International Women’s Day

Shivamogga district and Shivamogga zilla panchayat have jointly organised a drawing competition for women as part of the ongoing International Women’s Day celebrations, in Shivamogga on March 15. Female students and women of Shivamogga district can take part in the competition to be held on the premises of the zilla panchayat.

N. Hemanth, Chief Executive Officer of Shivamogga zilla panchayat, on Monday, told the media that the participants would have to create drawings themed on nature. The winner of the first place would receive a cash prize of ₹8,000, the second-place winner would receive a cash prize of ₹6,000, while the third-place winner would receive a cash prize of ₹4,000. In addition, two participants would receive a consolation prize of ₹2,000 each.

The officer appealed to women to take part in the competition in large numbers. The organisers would distribute canvas to the participants, and the candidates should carry the colours. “It is an open contest for all women. We have organised the event to encourage their talent,” he added.
