WWE star Drew McIntyre’s time away from WWE will appear to continue, as the former WWE Champion has reportedly added another major acting project in Hollywood recently. The former WWE champion, Drew McIntyre, will not be returning anytime soon as he was cast in a major new film role with Russell Crowe, according to reports from PWInsider and Deadline. Reports suggest that the player is not expected to be back before SummerSlam, and it has also come to light that after his successful work on the upcoming Highlander reboot, which was filmed in Scotland, McIntyre has reportedly been exploring several acting projects in Hollywood.

WWE star Drew McIntyre has given a huge update on his WWE comeback, but it seems that he is not returning anytime soon due to his acting commitments in Hollywood.

The reason for his long hiatus is due to taking an extended break to recover from injuries and pursue Hollywood.According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, there are currently no creative plans in place for McIntyre’s return to WWE television. The report also pushed back on recent online speculation suggesting that McIntyre was being positioned for a return ahead of SummerSlam.

With McIntyre now filming multiple Hollywood projects and having no creative WWE plans, the 15-time World Champion appears to be picking up Hollywood bookings and could be away for several months at a time.

Reports suggest that he is currently working on a project after shooting for the Highlander Reboot.According to Deadline, McIntyre has joined the cast of The Last Druid, a historical action drama starring Russell Crowe that is scheduled to film in Spain this summer. As reported by PWMania, the film The Last Druid is set in ancient Caledonia, where the story follows a Roman Emperor’s discovery of a secluded Druid stronghold hidden in the mountains.

Crowe will portray a peaceful Celtic elder who is forced to take up arms when his people come under threat from the Roman Empire.Meanwhile, the details regarding McIntyre’s character have not yet been revealed, but the film features a notable ensemble cast that includes Stacy Clausen, Pablo Derqui, Rose Leslie, Andreas Pietschmann, Daniel Zovatto, and Tennyson Crowe, the son of Russell Crowe.It is to be noted that McIntyre has been building his acting career with multiple projects like The Killer's Game alongside Dave Bautista and Terru Crews, and his upcoming film is a Highlander reboot has recently finished shooting and wrapped.
