Paul Doyle, the 53-year-old Brit accused of running his vehicle into the Liverpool supporters’ parade celebrating their Premier League title last May, pleaded not guilty to thirty-one offences levelled against him on Thursday.

Twenty-seven football fans were hospitalized, including two seriously injured, after a dark-colored vehicle swerved through the large crowds, hitting people in its path minutes after the players’ open-top bus had passed by.

Four children were among the injured, including one seriously.

Tens of thousands of people had gathered in torrential rain to celebrate the northwest English side’s victory parade.

The team bus had passed by Water Street just minutes before the car ploughed into the crowd, according to witnesses.

Supporters of the city’s world-famous football team had thronged its streets on May 26 to celebrate the club’s record-equalling 20th English top-flight title when scenes of joy turned to horror.

Merseyside Police said 134 people were injured when Doyle allegedly drove his car into the crowds.

Doyle, a father of three from the Croxteth neighborhood in the city, is charged with dangerous driving, attempting to cause or causing grievous bodily harm with intent, and affray.

A provisional trial date has been fixed for November 24, with the case expected to last three to four weeks.
