Drunk Andhra traffic cop misbehaves with woman, fights with colleague, suspended

Two police constables clashed in full view of onlookers in Andhra Pradesh’s Vijayawada, following allegations of misbehaviour.

Traffic Constable Srinivas Naik, who was reportedly under the influence of alcohol, allegedly misbehaved with a woman while in uniform. The woman confronted him on the spot and sternly warned him against his behaviour.

Ajit Singh Nagar Beat Constable Koteswara Rao soon intervened, but the situation quickly escalated. The two constables began arguing and ended up grabbing each other by the collar, fighting in public.

City Police Commissioner SV Rajasekhara Babu, IPS, took serious note of the incident and ordered the suspension of both constables on grounds of negligence of duty and indiscipline.

A video capturing the confrontation has gone viral on social media, prompting widespread criticism of the constables’ conduct.
