The 134th Durand Cup offers a record Rs 1.21 crore to champions. Individual winners get Rs 3 lakh and a Mahindra XUV 3OO SUV.

The 134th Durand Cup winners will receive a prize of Rs 1.21 crore, marking the highest champion’s purse in the 137-year history of Asia’s oldest football tournament.

The Durand Cup Organising Committee (DCOC) announced this on the eve of the grand finale on Saturday, where defending champions NorthEast United FC will face debutants Diamond Harbour FC at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (VYBK).

Earlier this year, the DCOC announced a 250 percent increase in prize money, raising the pool from Rs 1.2 crore in the previous edition to a record Rs 3 crore this season.

Prize purse:

Champions – Rs 1.21 crore

Runners-up – Rs 60 lakh

Losing semi-finalists – Rs 25 lakh each

Losing quarter-finalists – Rs 15 lakh each

Individual Awards:

Winners of the Golden Ball (Best player of the tournament), Golden Boot (Highest goal scorer), and Golden Gloves (Best goalkeeper) will each receive Rs 3 lakh and a brand-new Mahindra XUV 3OO SUV.

What Happened In Durand Cup 2025?

The 134th Durand Cup 2025 has reached the grand finale after an exhilarating series of knockout matches. The quarter-finals commenced on August 16 in Shillong, where Shillong Lajong narrowly defeated the Indian Navy 2-1, with Lyngdoh scoring from a penalty and Everbrightson adding another goal. Simultaneously in Kokrajhar, NorthEast United FC surged into the semi-finals with a commanding 4-0 victory over Bodoland, featuring two goals from Alaaeddine Ajaraie and additional goals from Andy and Parthib, witnessed by nearly 15,000 fans. The following day, August 17, saw action in Jamshedpur and Kolkata. At the JRD Tata Sports Complex, debutants Diamond Harbour FC stunned Jamshedpur with a 2-0 win, as defender Sairuat Kima scored both goals. In Kolkata, the derby saw East Bengal narrowly overcoming Mohun Bagan 2-1, with Dimitrios Diamantakos scoring twice before Anirudh Thapa managed to pull one back for Bagan.

In the semi-finals, NorthEast United FC triumphed over Shillong Lajong 1-0 in Shillong, thanks to a decisive goal from Redeem Tlang. In the second semi-final at Kolkata’s VYBK, Diamond Harbour made history by upsetting East Bengal 2-1, with goals from Kortazar and Joby Justin securing their place in the final despite a powerful strike from Anwar Ali.

The final is set for August 23, 2025, in Kolkata, where defending champions NorthEast United FC will face tournament debutants Diamond Harbour FC in what promises to be an electrifying contest.
