Uttar Pradesh Deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya held a meeting with officials to review the progress of developmental projects in Agra

Agra: Uttar Pradesh deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya on Wednesday reviewed development projects, govt schemes, and law and order in Agra, issuing directives to speed up implementation and fix administrative lapses.At a high-level meeting at the Circuit House, Maurya asked officials to fast-track key infrastructure works, including preparing a proposal and identifying land for an international stadium. He also directed desilting of the Yamuna and repair of ghats, calling for a structured proposal under the Namami Gange programme.Expressing concern over complaints of delayed electricity reconnections despite bill payments, he ordered immediate restoration and action against erring officials.

Issues related to smart meters were also flagged.To improve governance, Maurya ordered transfers of revenue and village-level officials posted at one place for over two years, along with police personnel. He also sought a survey of colonies lacking water supply despite pipelines and directed universal coverage.A joint team of NHAI, the irrigation department, and the municipal corporation was tasked with resolving waterlogging along the Waterworks–Sikandra stretch. He also ordered relocation of a hazardous road structure near Agra College.Maurya further directed beautification of Ambedkar parks and stressed 100% RTE admissions, warning schools against violations.
