The translation suggested that the initial comment came from Doncic. Bitadze had been physical on defense and vocal after missed shots, which added to the tension before the situation crossed into personal territory.

Despite the claims, Bitadze later pushed back on the narrative. He stated that nothing was directed at Doncic’s family and described the moment as typical in-game talk. He said, “He just said some inappropriate things in the Serbian language. I played in Serbia and I understand. I don’t know if he knew I understood what he said, so I just said it back.“It was nothing towards his family or anybody. His family, I really, truly respect them,” Bitadze said.He added, “I have all the respect for Luka and what he has done. I really respect everybody’s family.
