 Rajasthan’s Yuvan Verma stuns top seed Agastya Uppal of Delhi

High-intensity squash, stunning upsets and marathon five-game contests marked the fifth day of the Eastern Slam 2026 at the Squash Complex, Raipur, as the semifinalists battled for places in Saturday’s finals.The day featured semifinal and placement matches across multiple age groups, with several contests stretching the distance and showcasing the fitness, resilience and technical brilliance of India’s emerging squash talent.The biggest upset of the day came in the Boys’ Under-11 category, where Rajasthan’s Yuvan Verma, seeded 5/8, stunned top seed Agastya Uppal of Delhi 14-12, 6-11, 11-4, 12-10 to book a place in the final.

In the other semifinal, Delhi’s Rudransh Prabhakar outclassed Maharashtra’s Viraj Wadhwani 11-3, 11-8, 11-6.In the Girls’ Under-11 semifinals, Karnataka’s top seed Sameeksha Sugumar advanced comfortably with an 11-9, 11-8, 11-3 victory over Rajasthan’s Inaya Andrabi, while Rajasthan’s second seed Gauravi Ajmera overcame Jammu & Kashmir’s Avisha Agrawal 11-3, 10-12, 11-9, 11-9 in a closely contested encounter.

The Girls’ Under-17 semifinals saw top seed Saanvi Kalanki of Madhya Pradesh defeat Uttar Pradesh’s Fabiha Nafees 11-7, 11-3, 11-5. Jammu & Kashmir’s Aadya Budhia secured the other final berth after overcoming Maharashtra’s Vasundhara Nangre 11-4, 12-10, 12-10.One of the day’s most gripping encounters came in the Boys’ Under-17 category, where Karnataka’s Aryaman Singh fought past Haryana’s second seed Harshal Rana 11-8, 11-7, 10-12, 9-11, 11-6 in a thrilling five-game battle.

The result of the other semifinal between Maharashtra’s top seed Shreyansh Jha and Tamil Nadu’s Shiven Agarwal was awaited at the time of filing this report.In the Girls’ Under-19 semifinals, top seed Unnati Tripathi of Uttar Pradesh defeated Maharashtra’s Diva Shah 11-6, 11-6, 11-8, while Haryana’s Devashree Arora beat Tamil Nadu’s second seed Vyomika Khandelwal 11-8, 11-4, 9-11, 11-7 to enter the title clash.The Boys’ Under-19 semifinals witnessed Uttar Pradesh’s top seed Yusha Nafees overpower Chhattisgarh’s Jinansh Jain 11-3, 11-2, 11-2. Rajasthan’s second seed Subhash Choudhary also progressed to the final after defeating Maharashtra’s Arjun More 11-6, 11-9, 7-11, 11-3.The Eastern Slam 2026 will conclude on Saturday when champions across all age categories will be crowned at the ASF Silver Status event.
