ED team searches premises of Ranchi trader in cough syrup case

Ranchi: Teams of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday carried out searches at two places, including an industrial unit and a residence in the Tupudana area of Ranchi, as part of its operations in three states in connection with the codeine-based cough syrup scam.

The ED teams, along with paramilitary personnel, conducted the searches on the premises of the Saili Traders from early in the morning. The firm deals with products of Abbot, the company which is under survey in other states also. The operation was carried out at the industrial unit’s owner at the Silver Springs apartment as well. The ED has not revealed the seizures made during the searches.
