Jana Chaitnya Vedika State president and academician Bankuru Jogi Naidu on Friday urged the State government to allocate at least ₹10,000 crores for the education sector to strengthen the primary and upper primary schools in the State.

Speaking to media here, he hailed the one lakh new admissions in government schools for the academic year 2026-27 with the efforts of the government. He said that the government had allocated ₹6,700 crores for the education sector in its previous budget and needs to be enhance it further to ensure quality education at par with corporate schools and national standards.

He charged that the Union government had decreased the Budget allocation for education to 1.5% from 2.5%, and said that it would have serious repercussions in every State as it would lead to the deterioration of standards and privatisation of education. Mr. Jogi Naidu urged the government to appoint more teachers and maintain 1:20 pupil-teacher ratio which has been suggested by many academicians in their reports submitted to the government previously.
