Elaborate security arrangements were put in place at the Class X examination centres across Chittoor, Annamayya, and Sri Sathya Sai districts as the public examinations commenced on Monday.
Officials deployed adequate police personnel at all exam centres to ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of the tests. In Sri Sathya Sai district, security arrangements were made at 107 centres, with Inspectors, Sub-Inspectors, and other staff monitoring the premises and surrounding areas to prevent unauthorised persons from gathering near campuses. Section 144 Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) has been enforced around the examination centres to prevent crowding and maintain order.
Superintendent of Police (SP) S. Satish Kumar, who inspected a couple of examination centres in Puttaparthi, told the media that police conducted strict checks to ensure that students did not carry mobile phones, smartwatches, or other electronic gadgets into the centres.
“Special security arrangements were also made for the safe transportation of question papers, with escort vehicles accompanying them,” he said.
In Chittoor, Deputy SP T. Sainath inspected several examination centers under the Municipal corporation limits, and reviewed facilities available to students along with security measures in place.
In Annamayya district, police deployed drones to monitor the surroundings of the examination centres and suspected activity at the photocopy centres in the vicinity. Traffic management and mobile patrol teams were deployed to avoid congestion. SP Dheeraj Kunubilli appealed to the students to write their examinations without stress and urged parents and the public to cooperate in maintaining the smooth conduct of the exams at the centres.
