Emergency mock fire drill conducted at Bhel Trichy

Trichy: An emergency mock fire drill was conducted at Seamless Steel Plant (SSTP) of Bhel Trichy on Tuesday to check preparedness for safety, security and rescue operations at the factory.The drill was conducted in the presence of R Rajasekaran, joint director, industrial safety and health, Trichy and observers from Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Ordnance Factory Trichy (OFT), Airports Authority of India (AAI) and High Energy Projectile Factory (HEPF). The drill simulated an emergency situation at the LPG yard of unit II.Rajasekaran said all observations and suggestions made during the mock drill must be considered for further improvements in safety measures at lethal installations. Firefighting teams from OFT, AAI, Tamil Nadu fire and rescue services, and HEPF, under the mutual aid scheme (MAS), joined Bhel fire service personnel during the drill.
