The government is set to issue employment orders to 402 newly chosen sub-inspectors (SIs) in 15 to 20 days, according to Home Minister G. Parameshwara.

Replying to BJP member B.Y. Vijayendra during the Question Hour, Dr. Parameshwara pointed out that the notification regarding recruitment had been issued on March 03, 2021, for these posts.

The Karnataka Examination Authority had conducted exams for the candidates on October 03, 2024, and their mark lists had been submitted to the Home Department on November 19, 2024. The provisional selection list had been announced on August 02 this year, he pointed out.

He said there was a dire shortage of SIs in the Home Department, and the government was keen to issue the employment order at the earliest.

The process of issuing employment orders had been delayed mainly due to the malpractices in the exams held during the erstwhile BJP regime, the Minister said.
