Encounter breaks out in Srinagar’s Lidwas meadows 

The Army on Monday (July 28, 2025) said a group of terrorists was spotted and engaged in gunfire in Lidwas meadows of Dara Srinagar district.

A spokesman of the Army’s Chinar Corps said a contact was established in general area Lidwas. 

“The operation is in progress,” the Army said.

A joint team of police, army and CRPF had launched search operations in upper area Lidwas of Dara on Monday (July 28, 2025) morning. There were reports of terrorists movement in the area, officials said.

Army said that “three terrorists have been neutralised in an intense firefight in Lidwas area. and the operation is still going on.”
