Telangana Vigilance Commissioner M.G. Gopal has called for a comprehensive strategy to adopt energy-efficient technologies as part of India’s fight against climate change. Stressing the importance of public participation and continuous stakeholder involvement, he said energy efficiency is vital for both economic growth and environmental sustainability.
As part of ongoing consultations with top personalities, Media Adviser Southern States, Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), met with Mr. Gopal — who has served many years in the area of Urban development & resolving Environmental issues — and obtained his views on environmental and energy efficiency programs, including BEE’s ADEETIE scheme designed to support MSMEs in adopting energy-efficient technologies. He acknowledged the scheme’s potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, enhance competitiveness, and ensure economic sustainability, as per a press note.
Mr. Gopal said that adopting UJALA (Affordable LEDs for All), e-Mobility reflects the State’s commitment to ecological and economic sustainability. He said that the proposed Musi River Development Project aims to serve as both an environmental restoration initiative and an economic catalyst.
“The adoption of renewable and energy-efficient technologies has the potential to create jobs, conserve natural resources, and reduce pollution. Governments must give top priority to programs that ensure long-term environmental sustainability,” he added.
