Engineering students urged to use technology for social transformation

Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar on Saturday emphasised the importance of innovation, adaptability, and continuous skill development in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.

Speaking at the 25th convocation ceremony of Seshadri Rao Gudlavalleru Engineering College (SRGEC), Mr. Chandra Sekhar urged young engineers to use technology for social transformation, particularly in rural development and encouraged them to become job creators rather than job seekers.

Addressing the graduates, Gudivada MLA Venigandla Ramu encouraged them to combine technical expertise with ethical values and lifelong learning.

A total of 1,336 students graduated during the academic year 2025-26, with 1,165 students qualifying for the award of degrees. Degrees were conferred across several disciplines, including Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, and Internet of Things.

NSS band members and NCC cadets took out an impressive academic procession, while college chairman Vallurupalli Nageswara Rao, principal Burra Karuna Kumar and others participated.
