Ensure grounding of projects worth Rs 3L cr by June: Min

Bhubaneswar: Industries minister Sampad Chandra Swain on Wednesday directed officials to ensure grounding of projects worth Rs 3 lakh crore worth by the time the Mohan Majhi-led govt completes two years in June.

So far, projects worth Rs 2.4 lakh crore have been either inaugurated or had their foundation stones laid.Chairing a review meeting, Swain urged officials to fast-track implementation of industrial projects cleared by the high-level clearance authority (HLCA) and the state level single window clearance authority (SLSWCA).A total of 394 projects, with a combined investment of Rs 8.15 lakh crore and with the potential to generate over 5 lakh jobs, have been approved by the two authorities. “Of these, 108 projects worth more than Rs 2.4 lakh crore have already been grounded or inaugurated, creating around 1.75 lakh employment opportunities,” the minister said.Swain added that the govt is committed to expediting the remaining projects to create more job opportunities for the state’s youth.
