Liverpool and Brazil goalkeeper Alisson Becker backed under-fire coach Arne Slot as the Reds languish in tenth place in the Premier League.

Alisson stated that people take the Dutchman’s title-winning debut campaign with the Merseyside campaign for granted and backed the head coach’s approach.

“Do I back Arne Slot? Of course, yes," Alisson said.

“The Premier League title last season, looks like ‘everyone takes for granted what we achieved last season," the 33-year-old continued.

“That should be enough, but we believe in his knowledge, his style of playing," he added.

Becker also weighed in on his teammate Mohamed Salah’s situation following the Egyptian’s rant to the press during a rough patch individually and for the Merseyside club. Salah has been left out of the Reds squad for their UEFA Champions League game against Inter as a result of his outburst.

“I’m very, very disappointed. I have done so much for this club down the years and especially last season. Now I’m sitting on the bench and I don’t know why. It seems like the club has thrown me under the bus. It is very clear that someone wants me to take the blame," Salah had said.

“I got a lot of promises in the summer and so far I am on the bench for three games, so I can’t say they keep the promise. I always had a good relationship with the manager, and suddenly, we don’t have any relationship. It seems someone doesn’t want me at the club," the winger stated.

“This club, I always support it. My kids will always support it. I love the club so much, I will always do. I called my mum yesterday and said, ‘Come to the Brighton game.’ I don’t know if I am going to play or not, but I am going to enjoy it," the Egyptian had added.

Salah, who is Liverpool’s third-highest goalscorer with 250 goals in 420 appearances, has won two Premier League titles and the Champions League since joining from Roma in 2017. However, he has struggled this season, scoring just five times in 19 appearances as the Reds languish in ninth, 10 points behind leaders Arsenal after 15 games.

“You have the freedom to talk, but you have to deal with the consequences," the Brazilian said.

“Him not being available is a consequence of what he did and he knows it," Alisson continued.

“It doesn’t matter too much how we feel, but we are going to give a proper reaction," he added.
