Former CJI Sanjiv Khanna is scheduled to interact with the Joint Committee of Parliament on the ‘One Nation, One Election’ (ONOE) Bill, on August 19, according to the meeting notice issued on Thursday.

The committee, chaired by BJP MP P P Chaudhary, has held nine meetings so far. Former CJIs D Y Chandrachud, J S Khehar and U U Lalit have already interacted with the committee.
As per the notice, the committee will hold a meeting on August 11 and interact with political scientists and experts and then hold the meeting with ex-CJI Khanna. If passed, the Bills would pave the way for simultaneous elections to the Lok Sabha and State/UT Assemblies in 2034.
