Exclusive! Lucknow rolls camera for TV actors’ web venture

Lucknow’s streets have become the heartbeat of Hotspot, the upcoming web series directed by Rajeev Mendraniya and produced by Dr Nitin Mishra. The cast and crew have been filming in the city for over a month, with shooting set to continue until April 4, breathing life into this entirely Lucknow-centric slice-of-life drama.

Leading the ensemble are popular faces from television including Ssanjay Gaggnani, Aparna Dixit, Alan Kapoor and Manish Goplani, who bring to screen a poignant tale of the chasm between the rich and poor. Cameras rolled at some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, including Gomti Nagar, Kursi Road, Janeshwar Mishra Park, Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, the lanes of old Lucknow and Chandrika Devi temple.

Beyond the sets, the stars have been soaking in Lucknow’s legendary hospitality. Ssanjay Gaggnani couldn’t hide his excitement over the culinary delights. “I just loved the food in Lucknow. I’ve been to some amazing places like Shukla Chaat and Tundey Kebabs and they’re absolute must-visits!” His enthusiasm mirrors the crew’s growing affection for the city that has doubled as their creative playground.

Aparna Dixit, currently observing a Navratri fast, found spiritual solace amid the hustle. “I really like the vibe of the city,” she shared. “I’m so excited to visit Chandrika Devi Temple and the 51 Shaktipeeth Temple on Sitapur Road on the final day of Navratri. I’ve heard so much about its relevance during this auspicious time. I’m sure it’s going to be special.” Her plans underscore how Lucknow’s cultural depth is weaving into the team’s personal experiences, making the shoot an unforgettable chapter.
