Exclusive - Seher Hone Ko Hai actress Kanika Maheshwari on International Yoga day; says 'It teaches us that life is not something we have, but something we live every day'

As people celebrate International Yoga Day, actress Kanika Maheshwari opened up about what yoga means to her. She believes yoga is much more than physical exercise. For her, it is about being aware and understanding life better.

Kanika feels that yoga teaches people to truly live and experience life instead of just talking about it.Kanika Maheshwari says, "To me, yoga is about understanding that life is not a noun, but a verb. A noun stays the same, while a verb is always in motion. Yoga teaches us that life is not something we have, but something we live every day. Every breath, every thought, and every action is a part of that journey.”Kanika Maheshwari thinks that these days people are often told to chase things like what they want to be and where they want to go.

Yoga reminds us that life is a journey, not a destination. When we breathe deeply, meditate and are aware of ourselves we can enjoy each moment. She believes that this way of thinking helps our minds, bodies and souls work better together so we can live life in a meaningful way.She explains more "This idea can be applied to everything in life. It is not love, but loving. It is not a relationship, but relating. It is not faith, but trusting.

It is not happiness, but enjoying life. It is not knowledge, but learning every day. Yoga teaches us that life becomes meaningful through our experiences, not through the names we give them.”Kanika further shares that yoga helps people connect with each other better. In a world where people are connected to their devices all the time but not really to each other yoga teaches us to care about others. Whether it is our family, friends or people we are close to yoga helps us build relationships by being present and kind.

She feels yoga is about connecting with ourselves and then with the people around us.The actress says, "People often focus on getting things and being someone but yoga teaches us to be present. When we stop talking about life and start living it we feel more connected to ourselves and the people around us. That is where we really connect with our souls.”She concluded, "International Yoga Day is not about doing yoga poses for one day. It is, about living a life where we are always growing, relating, learning and changing. Yoga teaches us that life is something that is always happening and the more we are a part of it, the more it means to us.”
