Exicom opens integrated EV charging, critical power solutions facility in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: EV charging and critical power solutions manufacturer Exicom Tele-Systems Limited opened its integrated manufacturing facility in Hyderabad, aimed at scaling its production of EV charging equipment, lithium-ion battery systems and critical power solutions. Built with an investment of about Rs 216 crore, the plant is spread across 18.4 acres and has a built-up area of 2.8 lakh square feet. Exicom’s CEO and Managing Director Anant Nahata said the facility will raise overall production capacity by 2.5 times in Phase I and create more than 750 jobs, with over 450 employees already hired. He said the facility will cater to domestic and export markets. The new facility can currently produce 1 lakh AC chargers annually, with another line being added to double capacity to 2 lakh units.

It can also manufacture up to 4,000 high-power DC fast chargers, 50,000 critical power systems and gigawatt-hour-scale battery packs under one roof, he added. He said the company chose Hyderabad for its central location, supportive policies and quick govt clearances. While the facility will cater to both domestic and export markets, Nahata said exports will be a major focus area, with Southeast Asia and Africa among key markets.
