Iran-Israel Conflict: A series of strong blasts rocked Tehran on Wednesday as the military conflict between Iran and Israel entered its sixth day.
Loud blasts were heard and at least five columns of smoke were visible in the east and southeast regions of the Iranian capital, news agency AFP reported.
Additionally, explosions were reported in northern part of the city, with the main thoroughfare being partially closed. The renowned Valiasr Street that cuts from north to south was also partially closed.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military claimed responsibility of the attacks, saying that it was attacking military targets in Tehran.

The latest strikes came hours after Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned Israel of “dire consequences" and said that Tehran will harshly retaliate against Israel’s attacks.
In a first television address to the nation after the latest conflict, the supreme leader asserted that Tehran will not surrender or accept an imposed peace or war.
“The Zionist regime made a big mistake and will be punished for its actions. Our people will not spare the blood of their martyrs and will not stop violating their country’s airspace," he said.
He further gave a message to the United States saying that Iran will not surrender and further warned that any US strike will have serious irreparable consequences.
“Our armed forces are ready to defend the homeland, supported by officials and all segments of the nation. The Americans should know that the Iranian nation will not surrender and that any military intervention by them will undoubtedly cause irreparable damage," he added.
The recent escalation of tensions between both the sides have pushed the Middle East on the brink of an all-out war.
The two adversaries have long been engaged in a shadow war involving covert actions and proxy forces. Since October 2023, Israel has been fighting multiple Iran-aligned groups in the region, including Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
Iran-Israel Conflict
The Middle-East is bracing for a protracted conflict following Israel’s surprise bombardment of Iranian nuclear and military sites on Friday, which resulted in the deaths of several top generals and nuclear scientists. With neither side showing any signs of backing down, the situation remains volatile.
Earlier today, the conflict intensified further after the hostilities continued. Explosions were heard in Tehran today as intense Israeli airstrikes again targeted Iran’s capital, including Tehran’s District 18 area, near the Mehrabad airport.
Intense Israeli airstrikes have killed 585 people and wounded 1,326 others across Iran since last Friday, news agency AP reported citing source from Iran’s Health Ministry on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Iran’s missile attacks hit several parts of Tel Aviv on the dawn of Wednesday, causing significant damage.
