Lewis Hamilton has finally revealed the backstory behind one of his New Year pictures in which he posed with massive furry cows in the snow. The seven-time world champion recently revealed that he has inherited two cows, one of which is named Max.
The announcement at the Australian Grand Prix press conference drew massive reactions from fans, but Hamilton immediately swore that he was not the one who named the cow.

As Lewis Hamilton and his Ferrari teammate, the newlywed Charles Leclerc, sat down to interact with fans at a pre-race press conference in Melbourne, the former introduced fans to his new cow by showing them a picture he had earlier shared around the New Year.
“Oh yeah, this is my cow. His name is Max. I didn't name him. I inherited him, by the way. I adopted him. I didn’t name him, I swear on my life, I swear on my life. His name is Max and I have another one called Ombre,” he said while trying to calm down the fans. He added that the cow is like the new Roscoe to him, months after his bulldog passed away from pneumonia.But Hamilton’s fans still couldn’t stop reacting to the news. Reacting to the video on X, a fan tweeted: “I bet that cow likes to push people around.”
Another said, “Max helped him get in shape.” One more commented: “Max will be in the paddock soon.” But a fan pointed out an important detail, saying: “To be fair, he is a Red Bull.”

Lewis Hamilton had shared a glimpse of the cows in a post in which he reflected on the year gone by and new beginnings. He wrote along with it: “I’m incredibly grateful for this break. Time to disconnect, recharge, and find a bit of inner peace. Time with family and friends, replenishing with rest and good laughs, has been everything I needed after a very draining year. In a world that moves so fast, where we’re constantly being pulled in so many directions, truly disconnecting has been the most amazing feeling.
”Lewis Hamilton started the 2026 F1 season on a positive note as he finished second in FP1 and fourth in FP2 at the Australian Grand Prix on Friday.
