Lawyers of the Faizabad Bar Association submit a police complaint at Ram Janm Bhoomi Police Station, in Ayodhya on Thursday
Ayodhya: Lawyers of the Faizabad Bar Association on Thursday lodged a formal complaint at the Ram Janmabhoomi police station against Temple Trust general secretary Champat Rai, member Anil Mishra, special invitee Gopal Rao, and other office-bearers, alleging embezzlement of funds meant for the Ram Mandir.Rai and Mishra have already resigned from the trust, which will take a decision on July 7.The lawyers sought registration of an FIR alleging misappropriation of donations received by the trust. A large number of advocates remained present at the police station until the complaint was formally accepted.The written complaint was entered in the General Diary (GD), and the advocates were issued an acknowledgement receipt.
The complaint names Champat Rai, Dr Anil Mishra, Gopal Rao and other responsible members of the Trust.Ayodhya SP (City) Chakrapani Tripathi confirmed that the police received the complaint submitted by the Faizabad Bar Association seeking registration of an FIR.Faizabad Bar Association president Kalika Mishra said that if the police failed to register an FIR, the association would move court seeking appropriate directions.
