Satish Rana, a 24-year-old resident of Uttarakhand's Tehri Garhwal and the lone breadwinner of his family, was among the 25 people killed in the devastating fire at Goa’s ‘Birch by Romeo Lane’ nightclub.

Satish’s tragic death late Sunday night has plunged his village into grief, with relatives and locals mourning the loss of a young man who carried the financial responsibility of his entire household.

According to his family, Satish was the eldest of three siblings. His two sisters are married, and his younger brother is still studying. His parents, who depend on farming, relied heavily on Satish’s earnings. The sudden mishap has left the family shattered, and they expect his body to arrive in the village by Monday evening.

Local residents described Satish as responsible and devoted to supporting his family, making his loss even more painful for the community.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Tehri MLA Kishore Upadhyay contacted the Chief Minister and assured the family of all possible government assistance. He said the administration is in continuous touch with the relatives and will provide the required help.

Villagers and local representatives have demanded financial and legal support from the government, expressing deep sorrow over the tragedy.

Five men from Uttarakhand were among those killed in the Goa nightclub fire. Investigators revealed that most victims died due to suffocation inside the underground kitchen area. Of the 25 bodies recovered, 23 showed no burn injuries, suggesting a sudden loss of oxygen, while only two bodies were severely charred.

Police arrested four individuals on Sunday in connection with the inferno, while a fifth accused, the manager responsible for daily operations, was arrested on Monday in Delhi.
