Farmer dies of electrocution while working his field in Hazaribag

Hazaribag: A farmer died of electrocution while working his field in Horia village under Rebar panchayat under Katkamsandi block on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Ramu Prasad Mehta.

Locals said Ramu dropped his children to school and then watched a football match in the village. From there, he went to work his field. While working, he accidentally touched a live electric wire which was being used to power up a water pump. Mehta collapsed and died on the spot. Mehta was found in the field by his family members later in the day.A month ago, Mehta’s sister-in-law died in a road accident near Surajpura village in Padma block while his elder brother was critically injured. “The body was handed over to the family members after postmortem,” Katkamsandi police said.
