Fatal attack at home: Man kills wife as she prays

Hosapete (Vijayanagara): A 50-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her husband, who slit her throat with a knife during a domestic dispute at their residence in Agasara Oni in Hosapete on Friday morning.The victim was identified as Prabhavati, 50, while the accused is her husband, Ramamurthy, 55.According to police, the incident took place while Prabhavati was performing prayers at home. Ramamurthy allegedly attacked her without warning and slit her throat with a knife, killing her on the spot.Superintendent of police S Jahnavi, ASP Manjunath and DSP Muralidhar visited the scene and conducted an inspection.Police have taken the accused into custody. A case has been registered at Hosapete Town Police Station, and further investigation is under way.
