Mother, son, and brother-in-law found dead in blood-soaked house; suicide note cites SC-ST Act threats

A woman, her son, and brother-in-law were found dead in their Fatehpur home, with evidence suggesting a murder-suicide

FATEHPUR: A horrifying scene unfolded in Chauferava village late Wednesday night as the blood-soaked bodies of a woman, her son, and her brother-in-law were discovered inside their home under the jurisdiction of Kotwali police station. The deceased have been identified as Sushila Srivastava (55), her son Amar Srivastava (28), and her brother-in-law Sunil Kumar Srivastava (54). Investigators found multiple empty sulphas pouches and four blood-stained blades at the spot, along with several cut marks on the neck and hands of all three victims, indicating a violent end. A suicide note, reportedly written by Amar Srivastava, suggests the family took the extreme step due to threats of being falsely implicated under the SC-ST Act over a financial transaction.

The note claimed that mounting pressure and intimidation by certain individuals forced them to resort to this tragic act. Police and forensic teams have cordoned off the area and collected evidence from the scene. Kotwali police officials confirmed that the investigation is ongoing to verify the circumstances and validate the claims made in the suicide note. Villagers expressed shock at the incident, with many describing the family as well-regarded members of Chauferava. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas and questioning relatives and acquaintances as part of the probe.
