Dhanbad: A district-level peace committee meeting was held at the New Town Hall in Dhanbad to review preparations for the upcoming festivals of Eid, Ram Navami, Durga Puja, and Chhath.
The meeting witnessed active participation from prominent citizens, public representatives, and peace committee members from various parts of the district.Participants shared detailed insights into the ground situation in their respective areas, highlighting preparedness and possible challenges during the festive period. The discussion focused on ensuring communal harmony and seamless coordination among different stakeholders.
DC Aditya Ranjan, who chaired the meeting, emphasized the importance of maintaining law and order. Key issues such as traffic management, sanitation, uninterrupted electricity and water supply, and curbing rumours were discussed extensively. The administration made it clear that any negligence during the festivals would not be tolerated.Addressing concerns regarding the use of DJs, the DC stated that while there is no complete ban, usage must strictly adhere to the Supreme Court’s noise pollution control guidelines to prevent inconvenience to the public and distress to animals. He stressed that all festivals must be celebrated in an atmosphere of mutual respect and harmony.
