Field inquiry held into DTO Venkanna’s death in Bhupalpally

Joint Transport Commissioner (JTC) M. Chandrasekhar Goud on Wednesday (June 24, 2026) conducted a field inquiry into the tragic death of Jayashankar Bhupalpally District Transport Officer (DTO) M. Venkanna, who was fatally run over by a speeding coal-laden tipper lorry at Chelpur on Monday.

The State government ordered a detailed inquiry into the incident and appointed the JTC as the inquiry officer. As part of the inquiry, the JTC interacted with the police officials concerned, witnesses and others. He also visited the coal loading point at Tadicherla to examine the sequence of events that led to the tragic death of the DTO. Motor Vehicle Inspectors J. Srinivas, S. Srinivas, and others accompanied the JTC.
