First-timers Cabo Verde managed to take a point in their Group H encounter against Spain in the biggest early surprise of the tournament.

FIFA World Cup debutant Cabo Verde registered a historic result on Monday at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta as they held Spain to a draw to get off the mark.
First-timers Cabo Verde managed to take a point in their Group H encounter against Spain in the biggest early surprise of the tournament.
Cabo Verde did exceptionally well to keep Spain without a goal in the first period of the game despite the momentum absolutely towards ESP, as expected.
Some brave defending saw the debutants thwart recurring La Roja attacks in as keeper Vozinha was on top of his game.
the stopper clear his lines, for the ball only to end up to a red shirt as the Verde custodian parries the ball over the bar!
Ferran Torres clipped the bar after Cucurella head the ball back towards the middle as Verde survived a scare. Vozinha came up big yet again towards the conclusion of the first period to block a couple of true hits.
Luis de a Fuente introduced starry Lamine Yamal after seventy minutes of play as La Roja pushed in search of the opener, which ultimately never came as the Blue Sharks scripted history by picking up their first points at the FIFA showpiece on the first time of asking.
