Despite the early setback, India gradually found their rhythm and began creating opportunities but failed to equalize in the first quarter.

The tempo dropped slightly in the third quarter, with India still trailing by one goal heading into the final quarter.
India showed urgency in the final quarter, pushing hard for an equalizing goal, but again came close from a penalty corner without success. Germany eventually doubled their lead with Annika Schönhoff (52′) scoring a tap-in.
With time running out, India responded with Hina Bano (58′) converting from a penalty corner. However, Martina Reisenegger (59′) quickly scored a third goal for Germany, securing the win and all three points. India will next play Ireland on December 5.
